Low DPI settings (400–800) are popular among professional Valorant players for a reason: they offer more granular physical control over your aim. When you use a lower DPI, your mouse needs to travel further to perform the same in-game movement, which gives you more precision at the cost of requiring a larger mousepad and more arm movement.
Why Low DPI Works
At 400 DPI with a sensitivity of 0.78 (like ScreaM), your eDPI is 312 — comfortably in the low range. This means each tiny physical movement translates to a small in-game movement, giving you exceptional control for holding tight angles and landing precise headshots.
Finding Your Low-DPI Sweet Spot
If you're running 400 DPI, start around 0.6–0.9 sensitivity. At 800 DPI, try 0.25–0.45. Use our Sensitivity Calculator to find your cm/360 — most pros sit between 30–60cm for a full 360° rotation.
Mousepad Requirement
Low DPI demands a large mousepad — minimum 400×450mm, ideally 900×400mm or larger. Small pads will constantly limit your arm movement and build bad habits.
Transition Tips
Switching to lower DPI takes 2–4 weeks of adjustment. Don't switch mid-ranked season. Practice in Deathmatch for at least 30 minutes daily until it feels natural.
